Christmas Crafting

Our December meeting was lead by Hannah who introduced us all to Corn Craft. She had made an amazing display of decorations to show us how the craft can be developed before we all settled down to have a go ourselves. Bundles of specially prepared corn were handed out and Hannah explained the process to create a heart shaped decoration said to be a symbol of good fortune. Taking care not to poke each others eyes with the long pieces of corn, there was a hush of concentration as we all muttered ‘forward and back, then turn’ and gradually the pattern emerged that made up the hearts curved edges. Tied off with raffia and dressed with a ribbon everyone was very happy with their creations!

The committee provided mince pies and mulled wine while everyone caught up on their news. The festive raffle prizes went down well and Christmas cards and wishes were exchanged. Happy Christmas to all our members and we look forward to seeing you all in 2023!
