Flower Arranging
We started our autumn program with a very enjoyable demonstration by one of our members, Sue. She told us all about her flower arranging experiences, the pressure of doing wedding flowers and her anticipated experience of doing the flowers for her own daughter’s wedding in a few weeks time. While she chatted she put together two lovely arrangements created largely from flowers and greenery gathered from friends gardens this week, thus demonstrating that an arrangement of flowers need not be expensive if you are resourceful! The first arrangement was a lovely colourful collection of dahlias and flowering shrubs gathered in a pumpkin. It was a lovely cheerful and seasonal creation! The second was an arrangement of dried flowers from her garden that she placed on a ring for hanging. It was really interesting to realise just how many flowers from our gardens we could dry for winter arrangements. The lovely arrangements were raffled at the end of the evening.
