Running Fawlty Towers

It was wonderful to be back in the Village Hall and to be running a relatively normal evening. We did our best to enable people to stay well spread out and some members wore their masks to feel more comfortable. Unfortunately our candle making had to be postponed, so Susan Howe kindly stepped in at the last minute to give us a very entertaining talk about working on a super yacht as a teenager and running a small hotel later in life. She filled her talk with snippets and anecdotes about famous people who were kind, entertaining and badly behaved in equal measure. We also heard about some of her rather eccentric guests and a very characterful hotel cat that caused trouble which also proved very helpful when trying to catch a mouse in the honeymoon suite! Other business continued as usual, flower of the month, raffle and a new WI Library as well as delicious refreshments provided by three of our members.
